To coin a phrase, it just may be the “Johnnie Walker Blue” of Irish Whiskey.

Back in the late 1700’s Ireland, there was one powerful distilling family in two branches — the Haigs and the Steins. John Jameson was originally from Scotland, but married into the Haig family and moved to Dublin 1777 where he was put in charge of the new Bow Street Distillery. After working hard for years, he eventually acquired the entire operation in 1810 and the Jameson & Son Distillery Company was born. Since then Jameson has become the most recognizable and best-selling Irish Whiskey in the world delivering over 56 million bottles of golden Irish nectar each year.

Jameson calls their newest Whiskey Jameson Bow Street 18 YO Batch 1, their “rarest” release and that it will only be bottled once per year. Our sources tell us that there are only 15,000 bottles to be had this year. And while that might sound like a lot, when you consider that this is not even a single dram each for the Jameson-lovers in the UK alone, you realize it’s truly something special. It’s a blend of rare pot-still Single Malt and Irish Grain Whiskies produced at their famous Midleton Distillery aged a minimum of eighteen years, married and finished in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks at their historic Dow Street facility, and bottled at a cask strength 55.3% ABV. Com and get’em boys.

NOTES OF

SCENT & FLAVOR

COLOR

Deep colour, almost opaque.

NOSE

Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

PALATE

On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.

“Thanks to the characteristics and potential of the vineyards at Quinta do Seixo, it was possible to cut through the strong maturations of this year's harvest. As a result, we produced very balanced and robust wines, with aromatic notes typical of more mature years.” - Luís Sottomayor, head of Sogrape's winemaking

ORIGINS

Quinta do Seixo Vintage is a unique expression of this renowned estate, where a combination of soil, slope inclination, sun exposure and reduced amount of available water contribute to the production of intense and complex wines. The 100-year-old vines producing Port create wines full of intensity, character and freshness.
