The Oban Distillery- one of the oldest and smallest distilleries in Scotland- has been making fine Single Malt Scotch Whisky since 1794. The distillery sits nestled between granite cliffs and the sea in a picturesque harbor resort town of the same name on the West coast of Scotland. Indeed, Oban the town exists because of the distillery. The founders, the pioneering brothers John and Hugh Stevenson, first established a brewery and then a distillery on a piece of land right next to the bay and the success of these ventures prompted the establishment and growth of the town around it.NOTES OF
SCENT & FLAVOR
COLOR
Deep colour, almost opaque.
NOSE
Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.
PALATE
On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.
