Yamazaki is Japan's first malt whisky distillery, built by Suntory's founder in 1923. Using copper pot stills, this was the first of its kind outside of Scotland. The distillery location on the outskirts of Kyoto offered pure water, diversity of climate and high humidity, creating an ideal environment for whisky maturation.

Suntory Yamazaki is aged in casks of three different kinds of oaks: American, Spanish and Japanese, lending unique complexity to this spirit. Medium bodied, with aromas of dried fruit, coconut, anise, spice and honey, Yamazaki 12 Year has a delicate, mellow taste with a lingering and dry finish. The palate is rich with flavors of peach, fig, caramel, toast, honey, and cracked pepper.

SCENT & FLAVOR

COLOR

Deep colour, almost opaque.

NOSE

Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

PALATE

On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.
