From Suntory’s mountain distillery, Hakushu 18 Year Single Malt Whisky is the herbal and gently smoky single malt. Its crisp and vibrant feel, unique in a single malt, enlivens and liberates your senses. With a silky mouthfeel, this deep gold single malt carries scents of ripe pear, dried mint, oregano, and a hint of smoke, carrying flavors of jasmine, mango, quince, and menthol to your palate. It finishes long and pleasantly smoky, with a hint of bitterness. Straight from the untouched forests, mountains and pure waters of the Southern Japanese Alps, Hakushu's crisp and vibrant feel, unique in a single malt whisky, enlivens and liberates your senses. Savor this whisky neat, on the rocks, or blended with water (Mizuwari). Keizo Saji inherited his father’s vision in his quest for innovation and constructed Hakushu Distillery in 1973, a half century after the first Suntory distillery, in the forests of Mt. Kaikomagatake.

    NOTES OF

    SCENT & FLAVOR

    COLOR

    Deep colour, almost opaque.

    NOSE

Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

    PALATE

On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.

“Thanks to the characteristics and potential of the vineyards at Quinta do Seixo, it was possible to cut through the strong maturations of this year's harvest. As a result, we produced very balanced and robust wines, with aromatic notes typical of more mature years.” - Luís Sottomayor, head of Sogrape's winemaking
