Description

This wine has a beautiful, rich ruby-purple hue. As a classic Russian River Pinot Noir, the wine expresses aromas and flavors of lush red and black berry fruit. As you swirl the wine in your glass, you will open up scents of vanilla, baking spices, brown sugar & maple from the Woodford barrels mingling with licorice, dark chocolate, black tea with just a hint of earth. On the palate, you will find the wine to be wonderfully rich and juicy with soft tannins that add to its intensity.

Producer Description

For more than 37 years, Sonoma-Cutrer has earned a reputation of craftsmanship by steadfastly choosing quality over quantity. The winery is known for crafting world-class expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir by marrying traditional Burgundian winemaking methods with our own California innovation. Few wine producers in the world have such a singular focus and commitment to growing, crafting, and marketing their wines. This is evident as Sonoma-Cutrer has been named the #1 Most Requested Chardonnay 24 out of 29 years.*

NOTES OF

SCENT & FLAVOR

COLOR

Deep colour, almost opaque.

NOSE

Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

PALATE

On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.

“Thanks to the characteristics and potential of the vineyards at Quinta do Seixo, it was possible to cut through the strong maturations of this year's harvest. As a result, we produced very balanced and robust wines, with aromatic notes typical of more mature years.” - Luís Sottomayor, head of Sogrape's winemaking
