    Brand Description

    Sombra is a handcrafted, award-winning mezcal made in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico since 2006. Sombra is one of a few mezcal brands that owns and operates its own palenque - ensuring consistent quality, supply and environmentally friendly production methods. Each step of Sombra's production, from fermentation to distillation, has been reimagined to reduce its environmental impact. The Sombra Adobe Brick Project upcycles agave fibers left over from distillation into bricks to build homes for earthquake victims. Sombra was recently named the Most Sustainable & Environmentally Friendly Mezcal by the Mezcal Institute.

    SCENT & FLAVOR

    COLOR

    Deep colour, almost opaque.

    NOSE

    Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

    PALATE

    On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.
