    The Bien Nadico Hillside Estate Roussanne is a big, rich, mouth filling expression of the varietal. Despite the riper characters and higher alcohol (right around 13.5-14.0%), the wine still maintains great acidity and balance. The flavor profile is reminiscent of our 2004 vintage which is currently drinking at its peak. This wine is ready to enjoy now and will continue to age beautifully for another ten to fifteen years.

    Brand Description

    In contrast to the Old World, Qupé focuses on cool climate expressions of Rhône varietals due to a distinctive geographical feature that sets them apart from most other regions of California, as all vineyards are all located in East-West valleys (vs North-South) which function as open windows to the cool Pacific Ocean. The name "qupé" was chosen to honor the Chumash, the indigenous people of the Golden State's Central Coast and Channel Islands.

    SCENT & FLAVOR

    COLOR

    Deep colour, almost opaque.

    NOSE

    Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

    PALATE

    On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.
