Dough is the foundation of bread, signifying new beginnings. Like making bread, thoughtful nurturing creates positive change that rises from the simplest of actions. We support the James Beard Foundation’s work to create an inclusive, equitable and sustainable food culture through an annual donation. As a brand, we support positive changes to the culinary arts and beverages professions.

Each glass, bottle and conversation can make an impact, and become a catalyst for good.

Dough is the first ever wine collaboration for the James Beard Foundation, and leading our winemaking is Heidi Bridenhagen, who has received over 200 90-point scores at MacRostie Winery. Heidi crafted the wines in concert with a diverse group of chefs and beverage professionals, all alumni of the Foundation’s Impact Programs, to create the most food-friendly wines possible.

NOTES OF

SCENT & FLAVOR

COLOR

Deep colour, almost opaque.

NOSE

Aroma of excellent complexity, with wild bush and spicy notes like curry, pepper and ginger, red berries and black fruits mixed with a light cacao touch, the result of a good maturation, along with a slightly stony finish.

PALATE

On the palate it has a powerful attack, with a lively acidity, firm and well present tannins, wild bush and red berry notes, with an extremely long finish and great concentration.

“Thanks to the characteristics and potential of the vineyards at Quinta do Seixo, it was possible to cut through the strong maturations of this year's harvest. As a result, we produced very balanced and robust wines, with aromatic notes typical of more mature years.” - Luís Sottomayor, head of Sogrape's winemaking

ORIGINS

Quinta do Seixo Vintage is a unique expression of this renowned estate, where a combination of soil, slope inclination, sun exposure and reduced amount of available water contribute to the production of intense and complex wines. The 100-year-old vines producing Port create wines full of intensity, character and freshness.

Tried something new

Tried this out for first time and enjoyed it.

I'd classify this more as a "whiskey liquor" and not your average whiskey. Anything flavored like that should get a separate classification, but that's just me.

Amazing sipper

This was referred to me from Club Dirty. This is alot like Screwball, in which it has an amazingly sweet flavor. I mixed this with some cream soda and was blown away. Definitely not something I personally could drink alot of since it's so sweet. I Definitely recommend it.
